INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Ignite will attend the 2024 Central Zone Invitational to introduce thousands of young volleyball players and their families to the upcoming pro volleyball team. The Central Zone Invitational will be held on February 3rd and 4th at the Indianapolis Convention Center.

“Indiana is home to a remarkably strong volleyball community—with top-level clubs and competitions right in our backyard,” said Jim Schumacher, co-owner of Indy Ignite. “Central Zones is the kind of tournament that can launch volleyball careers, and clubs from across the country travel to Indiana just to be there. We look forward to cheering on the incredible talent on the court, while introducing them to the new professional career opportunities at Indy Ignite and the Pro Volleyball Federation.”

Central Zones is one of the most competitive junior leagues in the nation, and the Central Zone Invitational tournament attracts upwards of 30,000 people to Indianapolis each year. This event is an all-ages volleyball tournament where clubs, high schools and junior teams across the country come to compete.

Prior to the tournament, there is also the Central Zone Showcase, where uncommitted athletes from graduation years 2024–2028 can show off their skills to college coaches and recruiters.

“Tournaments like Central Zone are a chance to directly connect with the communities we serve. Because at the end of the day, everything we do is for those young women,” said MK Huse, General Manager and President of Indy Ignite.

At the Indy Ignite booth, coaches and players will have the chance to learn more about pro volleyball, enter prize giveaways and meet our team ambassadors. Indy Ignite is also hosting photo opportunities with some of the most skilled players in college volleyball, all of whom grew up in Central Indiana, including Emma Halter (University of Texas), Ramsey Gary (Indiana University), Camryn Haworth (Indiana University), Chloe Chicoine (Purdue), Raven Colvin (Purdue), and Eva Hudson (Purdue).

“For us, tournaments like Central Zone are a chance to directly connect with the communities we serve,” said MK Huse, General Manager and President of Indy Ignite. “Because at the end of the day, everything we do is for those young women—the passionate players hoping to one day make a career out of their favorite sport. Our team is working hard to pave the way forward and make women’s pro volleyball a cornerstone of the Indianapolis sports scene. ”

Pro Volleyball Federation will begin play in January 2024 with seven teams each playing 24 matches before culminating in a four-team championship in May. Indy Ignite is one of three expansion teams scheduled to debut in January 2025.
